Not even a week ago, Glastonbury Festival unleashed its first lineup reveal for 2025, dropping names such as Biffy Clyro, Lola Young, Alanis Morissette, Charli XCX, The Prodigy, and many others. None were too much of a surprise for those that have been following our line-up rumours page.

Of course, we now know that the headliners for Glastonbury 2025 will be The 1975, Neil Young, and Olivia Rodrigo.

Although the new line-up poster is a feast of line-up info, it doesn’t paint the full picture. Behind the scenes, artists have been quietly ‘self-confirming’ themselves on social media or to punters in person. Our resourceful community has made a thread of this in the eFestivals Forum, and The Glasto Thingy has been equally diligent in tracking them down.

Let’s dive right in a see who will be taking the stage at Glastonbury Festival this year, but is yet to adorn the official poster.

Tom Odell

Tom Odell’s name initially appeared on the Guardian’s confirmed lineup for Glastonbury 2025 on 6th of March, only to be mysteriously removed shortly thereafter. This move has stirred up plenty of speculation among fans and insiders. Drawing parallels with 2023 - when the Guardian leaked Queens Of The Stone Age, who were quickly removed only to later emerge as festival headliners - the curious case of Odell’s disappearance has led many to wonder if it’s yet another instance of premature lineup disclosure.

Joe Goddard (Hot Chip)

Fans of the Hot Chip frontman’s side projects will be pleased to hear that Joe Goddard is set for a solo show. Cited on a recent podcast with Martin Ware of Heaven 17, Joe’s self confirmation has sparked considerable excitement, especially with talk of him potentially spinning on one of the main stages. His reputation for dynamic live performances adds further fuel to the fire.

Goldie

The iconic Goldie has also made his intentions known, self confirming with a full band via Radio 6. Forum chatter has it that Goldie could very well spin across multiple stages, with many fans already speculating on his potential set-up. His confirmed appearance underscores Glastonbury’s reputation for blending cutting-edge sounds with established legends.

Annie Mac

Iconic DJ Annie Mac has added another surprise to the mix for Glastonbury 2025. In a recent appearance on the Sidetracked podcast, she confirmed she’ll be doing a set at the festival. Known for her groundbreaking shows and influential taste in music, Annie Mac’s announcement has sparked excitement among fans, who are eagerly anticipating the unique blend of tracks and vibrant energy she’s sure to bring to the stage

Carl Cox

Long a fixture on the festival circuit, veteran DJ Carl Cox was one of the first names mentioned in the thread. As one forum member enthused, “Carl Cox. Oh yes,” with others noting he was “the first to confirm for 2025.” Despite some debate about whether his comment was more wishful thinking than a formal announcement, the consensus is clear that Carl Cox is expected to light up one of the stages with his unmistakable live show.

Fat Dog

An unusual but exciting addition, Fat Dog reportedly confirmed their plans while being spotted outside a gig in Southampton. According to one forum post, a face-to-face chat on 21 November 2024 left no doubt: Fat Dog is gearing up to play at Woodsies in 2025. This personal interaction has earned them a spot among the most talked-about self confirms.

The Magic Numbers

Self confirmed during their recent show, the band’s return is being celebrated for the warmth and memorable moments they’ve provided in years past -whether on the Acoustic or Avalon stages. Their performance is poised to be a nostalgic treat for festival goers.

Morgan Seatree

Adding to the roster of unexpected confirmations, Morgan Seatree has now revealed his new tour poster on 4 March 2025. The poster leaves no doubt, he is slated to play Glastonbury on 29 June 2025. This bold announcement not only cements his off-poster status but also signals a fresh, creative direction from the artist.

corto.alto

Experimental funk outfit corto.alto have just released their tour dates, sparking intrigue with a slot marked simply as “Somewhere on a big UK field” on June 27th, 2025. With a packed festival calendar this year, this announcement is seen as an educated guess for one of their live appearances. Known for their innovative blend of rhythmic grooves and atmospheric soundscapes, corto.alto is set to bring a unique energy to this enigmatic venue, leaving fans excited to decode exactly where the show will take place. Well, except for those of us in the know.

Sports Team

British indie outfit Sports Team have amplified the off-poster buzz for Glastonbury 2025 by self-confirming their appearance. Known for their energetic live shows and anthemic, raucous sound, the band recently added an intriguing twist on Instagram. In a reply to a fan wishing they were in the official lineup, they cryptically responded, “those who wait will be rewarded,” hinting at an imminent official reveal.

Banco de Gaia

In a recent update on Facebook, Banco de Gaia posted a list of their upcoming gigs which included a confirmation for Glastonbury on 27 June 2025. Known for their groundbreaking blend of electronic music and global influences, the band’s announcement adds yet another layer of excitement to this year’s festival. Fans can expect a dynamic live set that promises to fuse innovative soundscapes with the unmistakable energy of Banco de Gaia’s signature style.

Beans on Toast

A beloved regular on the festival scene, Beans on Toast is said to be returning next year. One post recalled that “Beans on Toast said he’d be back,” hinting at the comfort and familiarity fans associate with his down-to-earth acoustic sets. His anticipated performance is yet another reminder that Glastonbury’s magic often lies in these understated yet genuine reconfirmations.

Rhythm Of The 90s

Rhythm Of The 90s have joined the Glastonbury buzz by self-confirming their appearance on their social channels using the official "We're Playing Glastonbury" graphics. This leaves little room for doubt, confirming that the band is set to bring their nostalgic, high-energy sound to one of the world’s most iconic festivals.

Basil Brush

Not one to be outdone when it comes to early confirmations, the irreverent character Basil Brush “self confirmed on radio 2.” Known for his cheeky persona—and his notorious rush to be first in confirming for the Kidz Field -Basil Brush’s appearance is set to delight kids and parents alike.
